Commiphora
mukul Commiphora mukul is one of the herbs,
which is used for arthritic and cardiac disease
due to its anti-inflammatory and hypolipidimic activity.
Oleogum resin present in the ethyl acetate extract
of this plant has these activities. 1. Hypolipidimic
activity It reduces the
blood cholesterol level in all types of animal models
and humans. Hence, it is a promising drug
to treat the cardiac diseases, which associate with
serum cholesterol such as atherosclerosis. 2.
Anti Arthritic and anti inflammatory activity A
very important use of the gum resin from C. mukul
has been in the treatment of various clinical types
of arthritis, on the basis
